A sudden landslide struck a tourist hotel in the Detian Waterfall Resort in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region this morning, killing four Taiwan tourists and injuring another.
The five tourists were among a 60-member Taiwan tourist party. They all stayed in the hotel, when the accident happened. Other people in the hotel escaped the accident.
The bodies of the dead have been sent to the nearest Daxin County.
The landslide was caused by continuing downpours, which also killed three local farmers. Mud-rock flows blocked the main traffic between the county and the scenic spot. Soldiers stationed near the region have been drafted to smooth out the barrier.
