The 2.26-meter-high Yao Ming was born in Shanghai in September 1980. He became a player of China's National Basketball Team at the age of 18. In May 2002, Yao went to the United States to take part in the NBA trial training. In the following June, he became the No.1 pick in the NBA draft due to his outstanding performance and signed a US$ 18 million three-year contract with the Houston Rockets. Though nicknamed "China Yao", the Houston people prefer to call him "Double-Double Yao." The photos in this album record his life, training and performance from different angles.
