The PECC Ecotourism Forum of this year will be held in Shangrila County of southwest China's Yunnan Province from September 8th to 10th.

The Pacific Economic Cooperation Council is an international organization composed of governments, businessmen and academics in the Pacific region. China is one of its members.

The forum will focus on the relationship between ecotourism and ecological protection, between ecotourism and protection of ethnic cultural heritages.

Shangrila County is a mountainous area of outstanding natural beauty that is thought to be the place described by James Hilton in his famous book " Lost Horizon."
