Tibet Raises Admission Fees at Major Tourist Attractions
The price authorities of the Tibet Autonomous Region has increased admission fees at major Tibetan tourist sites.

The increases of admission fees at the 27 state-level cultural sites, including the famous Potala Palace, were carried out because the prices were found to be relatively low compared to other state-level tourist sites elsewhere in the country, the prices watchdog said.

The price adjustments were made, for the most part, at Tibet's temples. For example, the admission fee at the Potala Palace is now set at 100 yuan (US$12) per person.
