Beijing subway assures citizens that it is equipped with an automatic fire-prevention system and would be able to put out a fire in a short time.
The assurance comes amid concern about the safety of subways after a subway fire in South Korea killed more than a hundred people.
Beijing Subway says its equipment will spray water or use fire distinguishing chemicals immediately a fire occurs, and fans will blow the smoke out of the subway.
The subway is also cooperating with police to strengthen security checks and prevention.
