A survey conducted by the Taiwanese Society of Psychiatry found out that a majority of Taiwan people are biased against mental patients, according to news reaching here from Taipei Friday.
Nearly 80 percent of the survey's respondents said they think that mental patients are dangerous and are susceptible to losing control of their emotions at anytime, while more than half of those interviewed said they are unwilling to live next to a mental patient.
The survey also showed that three out of every 10 people have at one time suffered from one or more of the various forms of mental disorder, ranging from sleeping disorders to depression.
