A total of 934 people died of infectious diseases in China last December with tuberculosis (TB) being the top killer, according to a national epidemic report released by the Ministry of Health Tuesday.
A total of 300,186 cases of infectious diseases were reported last December, 17,786 less than that last November, said the report.
About 86.7 percent of the total cases involved the diseases including TB, hepatitis B, bacterial and amebic dysenteries, gonorrhea and lues.
The top five killer diseases were TB, hydrophobia, AIDS, hepatitis B and hemorrhagic fever, accounting for 89.61 percent of all reported deaths, the report said.
