8.67 Mln Students to Attend College Entrance Exam

A total of 8.67 million Chinese students will attend the upcoming college entrance exams, according to the Ministry of Education on Thursday.

 

The number is 1.44 million more than that of 2004.

 

Chinese institutes of higher learning plan to enroll 4.75 million students, among which 2.3 million are undergraduates, the ministry said. The remaining 2.45 million will receive vocational education.

 

Of the students, 2.78 million enrolled to study majors of liberal arts, 4.23 million for scientific or engineering courses and 990,000 for mixed courses.

 

China's college entrance exams fall on from June 7 and 10.
