Parents Squeamish About Kids' Sex-related Questions

A recent survey indicated that as many as 30 percent of the parents in Guangzhou refuse to answer questions on sex and related issues raised by their children.

About 10 percent of them even scold their children when sexual questions are raised, the Information Times reports.

The survey was conducted by the Guangzhou-based Institute of Youth in three locales - Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao - and showed that most middle school students learn sexual knowledge through books and classes in school.

And 18 percent of the local middle school students know little about sex.
