All medical workers in central China's Hubei Province will receive training on AIDS prevention and treatment in a year's time.
As part of the program, 60 doctors selected from local hospitals are gathering in the provincial capital Wuhan to attend courses given by Chinese and US AIDS experts.
A Provincial government official says these doctors will later serve as trainers to other hospital staff, spreading the knowledge further.
When the program finishes, Hubei will become the first Chinese province with all its medical staff trained on AIDS.
