HK Police Net 34 Vietnamese Illegal Immigrants

Hong Kong Police arrested 34 Vietnamese illegal immigrants landed in Lung Ku Tan, Castle Peak early Thursday morning.

At about 4:20 a.m., the Police received a report that some suspected illegal immigrants were spotted at the Pillar Point, Castle Peak.

Officers from the Emergency Units, Uniformed Branch and Marine Police were immediately deployed to set up roadblocks and to conduct searches in the vicinity.

Subsequently, a total of 34 Vietnamese men, aged from 20 to 43, were arrested in various locations in Castle Peak, Tuen Mun and Tsuen Wan.

Among the arrested Vietnamese men, 11 were found possessing home-made weapons and knives.

A Police spokesman reiterated that all illegal immigrants would be repatriated immediately and their abettors would be prosecuted accordingly.
