The coming visit by Romanian Prime Minister Adrian Nastase to China and the current China trip by Romanian Senate Chairman Nicolae Vacaroiu will help push forward the development of bilateral relations in all areas, Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC) Li Peng said Saturday.
Li met with Vacaroiu in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing Saturday morning, saying the NPC and the parliament of Romania maintains a good relationship which is an indispensable part of bilateral friendly relations. The parliamentary leaders of the two countries have exchanged visits on a regular basis. The specialized groups of both sides have been expanding their exchanges.
The two sides should exchange experience on legal issues concerning economic reform and national development, Li said. The NPC is ready to work with the Romanian Parliament to further promote the development of bilateral relations.
Vacaroiu expressed the willingness to learn more about China's experience in developing the economy and apply the experience to the reform in Romania. He also expressed the willingness to enhance cooperation between the Romanian parliament and the NPC and increase contact and exchange visits by senior leaders of the two countries.
