Indian and Pakistani troops Friday shelled each other's positions along the Line of Control inRajouri and Poonch sectors of Jammu and Kashmir, a defense spokesman said in New Delhi.
Intermittent exchange of small arms firing between the two sides was also reported from several places along the International Border in Jammu and Kathua districts since last night in which a civilian was injured, the spokesman said.
Pakistani troops fired 80 mm and 125 mm shells on forward locations of Bhawani, Jhagarh, Laam and Bokhrani areas of Rajouri district from 10:00 hours and continued intermittent shelling till11:30 hours, he said.
The spokeman said that Indian troops retaliated effectively. There was no loss of life or damage on the Indian side, he said, adding that any causality or damage on the other side could not be known.
