Wei Jianxing, president of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), met here Thursday with a delegation from the Mozambique Workers Organization Central Sindical led by its chairman, Amos Matshinhe.
Wei, also a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and a member of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat, introduced the delegation to the current economic, political and trade union conditions in China.
Peace, development and protecting workers rights and interests are the common aspirations of all trade unions worldwide, he noted. The ACFTU advocates that all trade unions have the right to choose their own way of developing according to local conditions and the workers' wishes.
Acknowledging that all trade unions, large or small, have equal rights to participate in discussions and to contribute to the finding of solutions for major issues concerning international workers, he said the ACFTU is willing to continue to develop friendly relations with trade unions worldwide using the basic
principles of independence, equality, mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs.
Matshinhe said that the two countries and two peoples have a long history of long-standing, traditional friendship and will further develop friendly relations. He also spoke highly of China's achievements in its opening and reform drive.
The delegation is here at the invitation of the ACFTU.
