Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said in Moscow Wednesday that Moscow was ready to expand cooperation with China in all spheres, especially in global affairs.
During his meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Deguang, Ivanov highly assessed the development of bilateral strategic partnership in 2001 and advocated further expansion of the political dialogue between the two countries, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a Wednesday statement.
Ivanov briefed Zhang on key areas of Russia's foreign policy and their discussion focused on strategic stability, the war on terrorism and the situation in Afghanistan, Central Asia and Southern Asia, the statement said.
The discussion "continued in the sincere and benevolent atmosphere that characterizes the partnership between the two countries," the statement added.
