The leader of Argentina's Chamber of Deputies officially took charge as temporary president Monday until a special session of Congress appoints a new leader.
"I have just taken over temporarily as president. I hope that in the next 24 hours we will have the luck to have a president elected by the Congress," Eduardo Camano told reporters.
Camano was left in charge after the resignation of president Adolfo Rodriguez Saa Sunday. Senate president Ramon Puerta was first in line to replace him but resigned as well.
Camano will preside a joint session of Congress Tuesday to accept Rodriguez Saa's resignation and appoint a new leader.
