Ma Weidong, the Chinese employee kidnapped by Yemeni gunmen on September 23, was released peacefully Thursday evening.
Ma was in good health, but he seemed in need of rest after the period he spent in captivity.
Yemeni authorities will disclose how they managed to convince the kidnappers to free Ma.
Ma was kidnapped early September 23 by unidentified gunmen during protests staged in a southern Sanaa district, where the office of his Chinese road construction firm is located.
Later, the Yemeni police discovered that the kidnappers belong to the Naham tribe and that they moved Ma to Maareb Province, some 170 kilometers east of Sanaa.
Ma, 35, arrived here on August 5 to work as an accountant for a sewage project.
