Hit Terrorists, But Don't Harm The Innocent: Chinese Pupils

Pupils from a Chinese primary school wrote a letter recently to George W. Bush, President of the United States, in which they expressed endorsement for actions against terrorists and appealed for the crackdown not doing any harm to innocent people.

In the letter dated September 18, "all Young Pioneers" of the Chengbei Primary School in Suining City in southwestern China's Sichuan Province expressed condolences for those victimized by the September 11 terrorist attacks

They also urged the President not to hurt the innocent when taking revenge against the terrorists.

The "Young Pioneers Squad" is a social organization for primary school students across China.

According to an English copy of the letter obtained by Xinhua, the pupils said that "we deeply feel regret for that the event has caused many deaths and injuries of innocent people," and "as young citizens of the People's Republic of China, here we send deep sympathy and regards to all the injured people."

They said that while approving of the intended revenge act against the terrorists and "enemy who destroy peace," they "don't hope that the innocent people would be injured and more children lose their parents and become orphans."

Teachers and parents have all told them to be "friendly and generous" and the bird they like most is the peace pigeon, the pupils said in the letter, noting that "we hope all the children throughout the world will study and grow in an environment without wars and discrimination."
