In more than 50 years, especially in the 20 years of reforms and opening-up drive, the Chinese people have achieved great successes under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said Nong Duc Manh, the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Manh made these remarks in Hanoi Thursday in an interview on the eve of the 80th founding anniversary of the CPC.
The successes that the Chinese people have achieved in the cause of national construction, in the development of economy, culture, science and technology, as well as in the field of improving the living standard of the whole people, are very great, he said.
Manh also expressed his belief that under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese people will be succeeded in building a thriving and prosperous country which is playing an important role and has a strong standing in the international arena and will make due contributions to the peace, stability, cooperation and development in Asia and the rest of the world.
Talking about the friendly relationship and cooperation between the two parties and the two countries, the Vietnamese Party leader said that Vietnam and China are not only good-neighbors, but also two socialist countries under the leadership of the communist parties.
Peoples of the two countries share a great wealth which is the long traditional friendship, he said, adding that in the years of struggle for national liberation and independence, the two parties and the two peoples have provided great assistance and supported each other.
Manh is satisfied with the fact that the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China has been strongly developing in depth on the basis of the principle of "long term stability, orientation towards the future, good-neighborliness and friendship and all-round cooperation" set by the party leaders of the two countries in February 1999.
The relationship between the two parties has been also unceasingly developing through the exchanges of the working visits at all levels, through the exchanges of the experiences about party leadership and the state management as well as issues arising in the causes of renovation, opening-up drives and national construction and development, Manh noted.
The Vietnamese Party leader reaffirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to the Vietnam-China traditional friendship, sparing no efforts to consolidate and develop the relations of unity, friendship and cooperation with China.
General Secretary Nong Duc Manh also expressed his confidence that the relationship between the two parties and the two countries will reach a new height in the 21st century for the prosperity of each country, for the happiness of the peoples of the two countries, contributing to the peace, national independence, democracy and social progress of the whole world.
