China's largest crude oil tanks are being constructed in Maoming, south China's Guangdong Provinceand the tanks, upon completion, will enable the local Maoming Petrochemical Co. to store more foreign crude oil.
The two tanks, each with a diameter of 90 meters and a capacityof 125,000 cubic meters, will increase the storage capacity of thecompany's Beishanling Crude Oil Depot to more than 800,000 tons.
As a result, the company's total crude oil storage capacity will exceed 1.5 million tons.
One of China's largest oil refining bases, the company processed more than 10 million tons of crude oil in both 2000 and 2001.
As it shifts its focus from processing domestic crude oil to processing foreign crude oil, the company has also built a 250,000d.w.t level oil unloading system offshore, which could accommodate280,000 d.w.t level oil tankers.
