Firecracker Mill Blast Kills at Least Seven

An explosion on Wednesday morning at a firecracker workshop in Luxi County of Pingxiang City, east China's Jiangxi Province, killed at least seven people and injured over 10 people.

Huayuan Firecracker Mill at Yuannan Township of Luxi County exploded at about 7:00 am. Seven bodies have been discovered at the site of the accident till press time, and another 10 people or so have been sent to a hospital of the county for treatment, according to the safety production authority.

Witnesses said three workshops were damaged in the blast.

Rescue work is still under way. Cause of the accident is being investigated.
