Victims Identified in Chlorine Leak Blasts in SW China

Nine people dead or missing in chlorine leak blasts have been identified Saturday in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.

Among the dead and missing, eight are managing staff with Tianyuan Chemical Industry Plant and the other is a worker. Two of the victims are females.

The list includes:

Hu Yanlu, general manager Tianjing Chemical Company Limited, a subsidiary of Tianyuan Chemical Industry Plant.

Ran Zhengbi, female, deputy secretary of the Tianyuan Chemical Industry Plant Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Ye Zhonghui, female, deputy director of Tianyuan Chemical Industry Plant.

Ren Kaiqiang, director of the chlorine and hydrogen branch of Tianyuan Chemical Industry Plant.

Zhang Xianyin, director of the environment protection bureau ofTianyuan Chemical Industry Plant.

Kang Zerun and Li Wanming, managers in charge of the operation of the chlorine and hydrogen branch of Tianyuan Chemical Industry Plant.

Gu Weizi, a worker with Tianyuan Chemical Industry Plant.

Chen Shaoming, a retired cardre with environment protection department of Tianyuan Chemical Industry Plant.

The powerful explosions occurred about 17:57 Friday at TianyuanChemical Industry Plant located in the city's Jiangbei District, releasing high-concentration of highly irritating, greenish-yellowchlorine gas.
