Red Rope Sister is loved by many disabled people who surf the Web site for disabled persons in Shenzhen in south China.
Any person who leaves a message on the Web site's billboard will surely receive a warm reply from her. She is also in charge of a popular column in the Web site called "special matchmaker."
Her real name is Su Liping, Web master of www.cjr.org.cn. She and 19 colleagues, of whom 14 are disabled, launched the city's disabled persons' Web site which records thousands of visits each day.
The Web site was started in 2000. The staffs were chosen from graduates of a computer training course held for the disabled by the local disabled persons' federation.
"Before then, we were all jobless. So we cherish this opportunity very much and try our best to help those who are disabled," said Su, who was crippled in an accident seven years ago.
Su said people born disabled and those who were disabled in accidents tended to feel depressed and it was nice to help them through their hardship with communication on the Internet.
Disabled persons all over China, including Taiwan and Hong Kong, log on to the Web site to leave messages or write to them.
The special matchmaker has so far matched five disabled couples, four of whom have children.
