Chinese to Vote Against Bad Habits
Chinese people will vote against bad habits through on-line discussion and written messages from June 10 to June 25, said the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST) on Tuesday.

It is an activity organized by CAST and ten other Chinese organizations and enterprises, to mark the first anniversary of the issuing of the Chinese law on popularizing science and technology, the first of its kind in the world.

Citizens can get access to eight public websites or make phone calls to hotlines, to participate in discussions and vote against bad habits.

Wang Huimei, an official with CAST, said the voting results would be announced by the end of June. Four top-prize winners and another 1,000 lucky winners will be selected from the participants. Awards will be given for 50 stories, 100 short messages, and 50 pieces of caricature.
