An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted Taiwan Monday morning, according to the State Seismological Bureau of China on Monday.
The tremor occurred at 9:52 am Beijing time at somewhere between Yilan and Su'ao (24.6 degrees latitude north and 121.8 degrees longitude east), over 60 km south to Taipei city, the seismological bureau said in a brief press release.
So far, no casualty or damage reports have been available.
