Guangdong Police Breaks A Large Drug Cartel
Police in Guangzhou, the capital of south China's Guangdong Province, have broken up a large drug cartel, arresting 10 suspects and confiscating over four tons of "ice" or crystal methamphetamine, according to the officials from the local public security bureau.

Local police uncovered a drug warehouse in a luxury villa in nearby Shunde City. Following an investigation, on May 11, they raided the venue, capturing three suspects and seizing over four tons of "ice" as well as several pieces of drug packaging equipment.

Upon receiving news of the bust, the rest of the group, including the head, surnamed Ye, fled to Zhuhai City and Dongguan City, but were captured by police later that day.

Led by Ye, who is from Dongguan, the group, which includes two Hong Kong residents, sent about five tons of drugs to the villa in January of this year where it was repackaged and sold outside China, according to local police.

Police later found the group's drug workshop in nearby Zhongshan City, and the investigation is still in progress.
