The Chinese Communist Youth League (CYL), the largest youth organization in the country, had a membership of 69.86 million by the end of last year.
The CYL was founded in 1922, one year after the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and is regarded as the reserve force of the CPC.
On the eve of the coming May 4 Youth Day, the CYL Central Committee and the All-China Students' Federation awarded 18 young people the "Chinese Youth May 4 Award", the top honor for young people in China, for their contributions to the country.
