Fire Breaks out in China's Dahinggan Mountains Forest
A fire broke out in Mangui village in the Dahinggan Mountains forest area of northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region at 3 a.m. on Thursday, according to the local forest administration bureau.

About 524 houses were destroyed by the blaze but no casualties have been reported. The fire has been controlled and an investigation was underway to determine the cause.

Meanwhile, a grass fire that began on Thursday in Russia has spread across the Sino-Russian boundary to Chen Barag Qi in Inner Mongolia. More than 250 firefighters have been sent to fight the blaze, which has been brought under control on the Chinese side ofthe boundary.
