Seventeen patients infected with atypical pneumonia (AP), including 12 healthcare workers and medical students, were discharged from hospital Sunday, the Hong Kong Department of Health said.
A total of 60 patients to date have recovered from atypical pneumonia and been discharged.
One of the discharged patients today is Fung Hong, a high rank medical staff of the Hospital Authority. Fung was admitted to the hospital on March 28 for suspected AP symptoms. He has not been confirmed to have infected with virus, and will be observed for a period of time.
On the other hand, an additional 60 patients with symptoms of atypical pneumonia were admitted to public hospitals as at 1 Pm Sunday.
A 74-year-old female patient with a history of other diseases died Sunday morning, bringing to 13 the total number of patients died with atypical pneumonia in public hospitals.
The cumulative figure for patients admitted to public hospitals with AP is 530, starting from March 12, the Department of Health said.
