Explosions at Tsinghua, Peking Universities Injure Nine
Three people were injured in an explosion in Nongyuan dining hall at Peking University at about 1:20 pm Tuesday.

A witness said windows on the second floor of the dining hall were totally shattered because of the explosion.

Six people were injured, two of them severely, as an explosion rocked a dining hall at Beijing's prestigious Tsinghua University at 11:50 am Tuesday.

The blast occurred on the first floor of "Heyuan" dining hall, at the center of Tsinghua campus. Over 30 people were having lunch there at the time. University officials were at the scene shortly after the explosion.

The police have detected homemade charcoal gunpowder dynamite on the two explosion scenes. Further investigations are still underway.
