In his message to Luxembourg Grand Duke Henri, Chinese President Jiang Zemin, on behalf of the Chinese people and in his own name, extended warm congratulations and ardent wishes to the grand duke and the Luxembourg government and people.

Jiang said the relations between the two countries have made great progress in the past 30 years. The two sides have made abundant achievements in cooperation in various fields, carried out more exchanges and deepened mutual understanding.

China will work together with Luxembourg to further strengthen the friendly cooperation and promote the bilateral relations to a higher level, Jiang said.

In his message, Grand Duke Henri heartily thanked President Jiang for his congratulatory message.

He said Luxembourg and China have made considerable progress in cooperation and exchanges in many fields in the past 30 years. He is happy to see the two governments also have had good cooperationin international affairs, he added.
