Seven people were killed in east China's Zhejiang Province following a workshop collapse, local sources confirmed on Sunday.

The accident happened at about 8 a.m. Sunday in a privately-owned hardware polishing workshop in Xialin village of Wenzhou city, where three two-story houses were toppled down.

Seven workers were found dead, while 12 others were injured, including four in serious condition but without life danger.

The total number of workers in the workshop is unknown.

Two of the injured said they heard a sound of blast, but the cause of collapse is under investigation.
