Citizens to travel by trains during the yearly Spring Festival transport peak can buy tickets starting Sunday evening, Beijing Times reported.
The sale is to start at 7:00 pm Sunday, according to the Beijing railway authorities which reminded that each person is limited to buy five berth tickets or 10 seat tickets at most.
People can buy tickets for Z and D series trains 10 days before departures and tickets for K and T series can be bought 4 days ahead of travels, said the Beijing Railway Bureau.
Tickets for the lines towards Sichuan Province, Chongqing Municipality and northeastern areas are hot at present, the bureau unveiled.
Railway police will launch special crackdown on scalpers to secure a smooth transport. 51 cases related to illegal ticket sale have been handled from January 1 to 10, revealed a spokesman for local railway police.
This year's Spring Festival transport period will last 40 days, from January 23 to March 2, with more than 15 million passengers expected to take trains of the Beijing bureau, 900,000 more than that over the same period in 2007.
