Bejing to introduce prayer rooms at airport
Adjust font size:

Beijing is to set up two prayer rooms in the No. 3 terminal building of the Capital International Airport for passengers who hold religious beliefs, the airport officials said on Saturday.

This is the first time for China to provide prayer rooms for passengers at a mainland airport.

The No.3 terminal building, which is under construction and will be put into operation next year before Beijing Olympic Games, will be the main gateway to receive flocks of domestic and foreign passengers.

The airport officials did not reveal what kind of religious services the pray rooms will provide.

The prayer rooms will prepare carpet, chairs and holy-water for the passengers, according to the officials.
