Ningxia Court Opens Second Trial of Migrant Worker Killing Case

Northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Higher People's Court opened the second trial on a case involving a desperate migrant worker who killed his boss for refusing to pay him defaulted salary.

Wang Binyu, a young peasant working in Ningxia, was insulted and beaten up by his boss and companions when he tried to claim unpaid wages for an operation on his father's broken leg. In desperation, he killed the four with a knife and injured a fifth person then promptly handed himself over to police.

The killing happened in May and he was sentenced to death in June.

The Ningxia Autonomous Regional People's Procuratorate lodged public prosecution against Wang on Thursday and Wang's lawyer defended the case.
