Coalmine Cave-in Leaves Three Dead, One Injured in Guangdong

A cave-in accident took place Thursday in a coal mine in Meixian County of south China's Guangdong Province, leaving three miners dead, one injured as of early Friday morning.

The local government source said the cave-in happened at around 5:00 PM in the Baimian Coal Mine in Meixian County, which had been ordered to suspend production for safety checkup.

Four miners from east China's Jiangxi Province were doing some inspecting and repairing work in the mine when the tragedy occurred.

The local government departments have aroused more than 100 people for rescue operations and begun to cope with the aftermath of the accident.
