Fishing Boat Sinks with Six Rescued, Another Two Missing in E. China Sea

A fishing vessel from northeast China's Liaoning Province sank off the coast of east China's Shandong Province early Wednesday morning, east China, with six of the eight people aboard rescued.

According to the Yantai Maritime Safety Administration under the Ministry of Communications, the remaining two of the crew are still missing and rescue efforts are continuing.

The administration said at around 6:00 AM on Wednesday, a Liaoning-registered fishing boat capsized and sank approximately 1.1 sea miles northeast off Chengshantou, the easternmost tip of the Shandong Peninsula, with the crew of eight fishermen falling into the water. Six of them were rescued at 6:44 a.m. by other boats sent to the site.
