Wall Collapse Traps Five in Guangdong

A collapsed wall trapped five people in a construction site on Thursday noon, which caused the stoppage of the No.2 metro line of Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province.

The 100-meter long wall of a construction site collapsed at 12 PM, in Haizhu District of Guangzhou, caused the nearby 6-meter wide road to sink, and the wood-brick constructed houses were collapsed, hit five people nearby.

The local government evacuated about 590 people and organized the rescue work.

Because the accident spot is close to Guangzhou No.2 metro line, the government blocked the metro line to guarantee the transport safety.

Three of the trapped were rescued and hospitalized, the rescuers are still searching for other two.
