Rainstorm Leaves 2 Power Stations in Danger in Hubei

Downpours swept central China's Hubei Province over the past few days. The ensuing mountain floods put two power stations under construction in dangerous situation in Zhuxi County.

The provincial flood control and drought relief headquarters said on Monday that 4,123 people of 861 households downstream the two projects have been evacuated and resettled well.

According to the headquarters, at 11:30 Saturday night, the Daxia Power Station in the Quanhe River valley of Zhuxi County suffered a cofferdam collapse. And another project, the Hongyan primary power station, also reported slight infiltration in its dam.

By press time, the Hongyan power station has been basically brought out of danger, the headquarters added.
