Haier, a leading Chinese mainland electronic household appliance manufacturer, opened its Hong Kong branch on Friday.
By establishing the new office in the city, the company will take Hong Kong as the springboard to expand into other regional markets. Hong Kong is glad to be the platform for Chinese mainland companies to implement their overseas strategy, said Ophelia Tsang, acting director-general of Invest Hong Kong when officiating Haier's Hong Kong office. According to the official, more than 3,600 overseas enterprises have set up their regional headquarters or regional offices in Hong Kong, among which, over 260 are from the mainland.
