A minor collision between two light rail trains has left 18 passengers injured in Hong Kong Monday morning, the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) claimed in the evening.
All the injured were discharged after medical examination, the KCRC said, adding six light rail trains experience short service delays ranging from 5 to 10 minutes and the passengers boarding the two incident trains had to change for other trains to continue their journeys.
Results of a preliminary investigation showed that the incident was not caused by any mechanical problem or system failure. KCRC and Police are investigating the root cause of the incident.
The company apologized for the inconvenience caused and sent staff to the hospital to visit the injured passengers.
