Opium Trafficker Arrested

Two drug traffickers carrying 5,150 grams of opium were caught on train K166 running from the city Kunming in southwestern China to Xi'an in northwest China, according to Xi'an railway police.

The police captured the traffickers 4:30 PM on Oct. 10, when the train was traveling between Jiangyou and Guangyuan in Sichuan Province, police noted.

The suspects, from Sichuan and Gansu provinces, confessed they bought 5,150 grams of opium at a price of 86,000 yuan (US$10,386) in Sichuan and planned to sale in Gansu, said the police.

Further investigation into the case is still under way.
