Peking University has tightened its security measures and visitors will not be able to enter the campus as easily as before.
The university authority says it has redoubled security efforts at all entrances and people coming for sightseeing on the campus are not welcome.
In addition, students from other colleges may only enter the campus if accompanied by a student or teacher of Peking University.
The university's security department says the restrictions are required because too many visitors make their job more difficult, and the campus should not be treated like a park.
So far, Tsinghua University has not taken similar measures.
