Landslide Leaves One Dead, Five Injured, Eight Missing

One people was killed and five others were injured in a landslide caused by downpour in Yilong County of Nanchong City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, early on Saturday, according to local sources.

The disaster took place in Dayin Township of Yilong County around 1 a.m on Saturday when five rural houses were buried or washed away by landslide, said local sources.

Rescue workers only found one body and five people who were injured, three of them seriously wounded. Eight others were still missing.

The provincial government organized a special disaster relief working group which rushed from Chengdu, the provincial capital, to the site of the tragedy east to Chengdu.
