A pedestrian was seriously injured after being knocked down and dragged 300 meters under a BMW in Longhua in Bao'an District at 2 AM Wednesday, the Shenzhen Evening News reported.
The BMW driver allegedly quarreled with security guards at a hotel after he broke some articles in a rest room while drinking.
The driver returned to his car soon after but found himself surrounded by more than 20 security guards who asked him to get out of the car.
The driver drove off at speed knocking down a man in his 50s who was trapped under the car and dragged more than 300 meters. The car stopped momentarily to release the victim.
The security guards and many civilians tried unsuccessfully to stop the car.
According to hotel records, the BMW registration plate number is 8V181. Police said the car could belong to a Longgang resident.
The injured man was in critical condition in hospital. Police are investigating.
