Two drivers were arrested in east China's Zhejiang Province in connection with a deadly bus accident on May 12, police said Friday.
Yang Xingen and Chen Fengfeng, the drivers, were both accused of causing the accident in which 23 passengers were killed and 10 injured.
Yang was driving his Santana car on an expressway in the province on May 12 afternoon when he illegally changed lanes, causing the bus in front, driven by Chen, to swerve to avoid a collision.
The bus broke through the fencing and fell from the bridge, plunging 7.6 meters down to the ground.
According to police, Chen was driving over the legal speed limit when the accident happened, giving him no time to respond to the emergency properly. Both drivers, therefore, should share equal responsibility for the tragedy, police said.
