American Northwest Airlines will provide new services on the routes from Beijing and Shanghai to the United States via Tokyo in a fresh move to meet the growing aviation demand,Frederic Deschamps,vice president of company's International Department,said here Wednesday.
From June 10, the company will launch a route from China to Portland via Tokyo and resume the route from China to Hawaii via Los Angeles.From October,newly delivered Airbus A330-200 long-haul aircraft will be operated on the routes to Beijing. The company will also introduce self-service checking equipment in Beijing International Airport by the end of this year.
General Manager Sandeep Bahl for the company's China operationssaid that as competition is growing on China-US routes,the company will increase investment in China in order to expand its aviation network,improve airport equipment,and strengthen cabin service.
