Beijing has set a minimum price for wedding services, in an effort to avoid dodgy businesses and unfair competition. The regulation has provided basic prices for all the services surrounding the wedding celebration, including beauticians and festooned vehicles and even details the lowest prices for the different types of rented cars.
The move is expected to help love-birds avoid having their big day ruined by unregulated, cut-cost wedding services.
The first batch of 200 qualified planners and wedding hosts will soon get certificates for receiving formal training.
China usually sees a boom in weddings around the May Day and National Day's holidays. (CRI April 23, 2004)
