Trade between China and South Korea may exceed US$100 billion in five years. Both sides are upbeat about the expectation after a recent ministerial meeting in Beijing. Bilateral trade surpassed US$63 billion last year, and South Korean investment in China also neared US$20 billion.
China hopes Korean businesses will invest in its vast, less-developed western hinterland and the old industrial bases in the northeast.
