Fiat is planning to split its financial and industrial operations into separate organizations, aiming to create a Fiat Bank. It hopes the revamp will create economies. 
 
The plan will replicate the structure of the financial arms of General Motors or Ford.

Fiat hopes that the revamp will create economies of scale among lending organizations while making it easier to issue bonds.
